Packing major appliances
Before transport, you should have your major appliances checked and serviced by an appliance service professional. Major appliances include window air conditioners, washers, dryers (electric or gas), and kitchen ranges. If you are unsure whom to call, your mover can help you make the arrangements.
Defrost refrigerators and freezers completely one or two days prior to moving. Clean the inside with a bleach-and-water solution. Dry the surfaces and leave the door open to prevent mold and musty odors. A mover is not responsible for damage due to changes in climate or improper cleaning. Remove all pans, trays, drawers, shelves, or other removable parts and wrap them individually for transport.
